Anganwadi workers are critical in ensuring that the ICDS program reaches the intended beneficiaries and in improving the health and nutrition of young children and mothers. We orient and assist anganwadi workers in effectively implementing their role and responsibilities, such as early childhood education, health check-ups and immunizations, health and nutrition education for mothers and families, monitoring the growth and development of children, and maintaining records and data on beneficiaries. We facilitate the process of obtaining the necessary documents for children to access various schemes.
The Mothers Committee is a group of mothers who work in partnership with the anganwadi workers to ensure the smooth functioning of the anganwadi centres and to improve the health and nutrition of children and mothers in their community. We orient and train the mothers committee members in their role and responsibilities of raising awareness about child health and nutrition, participating in the planning and implementation of activities at the anganwadi centres, and monitoring the services provided by the anganwadi workers. The committee acts as a bridge between the anganwadi workers and the community, and helps to ensure that the services provided at the anganwadi centres meet the needs of the local community.
The role of the Monitoring Committee is to oversee and monitor the functioning of the anganwadi centres in their jurisdiction. The committee, which is composed of local leaders and community members, ensures that the services provided by the centres are in compliance with the guidelines set by the government and helps to resolve any issues or challenges faced by the anganwadi centres. We orient and train members of the monitoring committee in effectively carrying out their duties.
We collaborate with anganwadi workers, mothers committee and monitoring committee members to develop the Anganwadi Development Plan (ADP). We facilitate meetings to create the ADP and assist in analysing and listing improvements for better functioning of the anganwadi centres.
