Coordinating to Safeguard Child Rights and Education: Aspire Team and ICDS Meeting

On July 7th, 2023, a coordination meeting was held at Saharpada, organized by the Aspire team in collaboration with the ICDS department and child development workers. Attendees included Block Development Officer, Block Education Officer, Child Development Protection Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Aspire Team, and other officials. The meeting aimed to address the issues of child marriage and child labour, focusing on child rights and education. Presenters from our team introduced the organization and its activities, including access, learning, and governance. The ongoing learning classes, such as FLN and LEP classes, were discussed, highlighting the impact on children’s attendance and learning outcomes. The state ICDS cum Adolescent Coordinator emphasized the need for health check-ups, the provision of iron and calcium tablets, and the formation of a Girls’ Rights Protection Forum. The officials expressed appreciation for our work and pledged support for better coordination. The meeting resulted in commitments to monthly health check-ups, improved collaboration, and increased awareness of education’s importance. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, highlighting the collective effort to protect children’s rights.
