Interstate State Child’s Right Protection Forum Meeting

In a state-level CRPF meeting held on June 29th at the BDO office in Champua, Keonjhar, representatives from Odisha and Jharkhand gathered to discuss child protection and welfare. The agenda covered important topics such as strategies for child protection by CRPF, the potential implementation of a social audit plan, proposing Keonjhar District as a Child Labour Free Zone, addressing children’s transition issues, outlining future plans, and open discussions by participants. Concerns raised included inadequate classrooms, enrollment document issues, shortage of teachers, demands for fees, distance challenges, and lack of awareness among parents. The meeting emphasized the importance of community involvement, tracking children’s progress through tools like the Village Education Register, sustainable planning, and collaboration with government officials. The meeting concluded with a call for grassroots support, raising children’s issues at all levels, and holding state-level CRPF meetings quarterly. The discussions aimed to foster effective strategies and collective efforts for the protection and welfare of children in the region.
