Breaking Barriers – Sabita Juanga the first Matriculate of Baunru Village

May 19, 2023
Sabita Juanga has achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the first student from the remote Baunru village in the Harichandanpur Block of Badapalashpal Panchayat to pass her matriculation exam. Nestled amidst dense forests and hills, Baunru village is home to only 20 Juanga families, and unfortunately, it has been neglected in various aspects, including transportation, education, healthcare, and access to clean drinking water. The absence of a school in the village has made it extremely challenging for children to receive an education.
However, a few years ago, a voluntary organization called Aspire stepped in to bridge this educational gap. Aspire began teaching lessons to the young children of Baunru village, and to ensure a proper education, they even provided a hostel facility. It was through this initiative that Sabita, the daughter of Mangraj Juanga and Phula Juanga, had the opportunity to receive education from Aspire for a duration of four years. Thanks to their support, Sabita was able to enroll in Jirang High School and pursue her studies.
After putting in tremendous effort and dedication, Sabita has now successfully cleared her matriculation examination, securing an impressive 72 percent marks in the B-1 grade. Her achievement marks a significant milestone for Baunru village, as she proudly becomes its first matriculate. Recognizing her exceptional accomplishment, Block Coordinator Ashok Kumar Sahoo, Panchayat Coordinator Ashok Kumar Mahanta, and the entire staff of Aspire extended their heartfelt congratulations to Sabita, acknowledging her perseverance and success despite the challenges posed by the village’s remote location.
Sabita’s remarkable journey serves as an inspiration to not only the residents of Baunru village but also to the wider community. It highlights the importance of accessible education and the positive impact it can have on the lives of individuals and their communities. Sabita’s achievement stands as a testament to the power of determination, resilience, and the support of organizations like Aspire in empowering individuals to overcome obstacles and realize their full potential.
