Aspire organised a one day convention on child rights and Right to Education(RTE) Act, 2009 for newly elected PRI members of Kutra Block on 4th August. Block Chairman Smt. Shanti Lata Lakra and Zila Parishad member Smt. Pinky Sunyani were chief guests at the convention. All the Sarpanches and Sabhya Samiti members from the block participated in the event.
All the PRI members were welcomed with bouquets of flowers and the chief guests lit a lamb to officially launch the convention. Discussions were conducted around child rights, RTE and the role and responsibilities of PRI members in protecting child rights. Participants also talked about what it means to have access to quality education.
Nuagaon Sarpanch Smt. Sita Minz said that many children from the area are being able to access higher education with the support of Aspire. Sabhya Samiti Member Smt. Suniti Dhanwar added that it is the duty of PRI members to give attention to ensure rights and quality education for every child. Smt. Shanti Lata Lakra promised her support for ensuring quality education and the development of schools.

All participants took an oath to support education for all children and prevent child labour and child marriages.
