Project Expansion Meeting with Elected Representatives in Jharkhand

Aspire organised a meeting with the Minister and MLAs from the region of West Singhbhum on 24th june as we are expanding our programs to all of the blocks in the West Singhbhum district. The Meeting was a part of Aspire’s mandate to build an understanding about our views, goals and activities among the representatives of the areas we work.

Jharkhand’s Women, Child Development and Social Security Smt. Minister Jeba Manjhi, MLAs Shri. Sonaram Sinku, Niral Purty, Sandeep Bansari, Deputy Commissioner of West Singhbhum Shri. Ananya Mittal (IAS), TSF Education Head Shri. Smita Agarwal, Aspire’s Secretary Shri. Dayaram, District Coordinator G. Naresh, and other staff representatives were present in the meeting.

G. Naresh presented the work Aspire has already been doing in the blocks of Jagannathpur and Noamundi for the past five years which includes the survey to identify and bring back children to schools through our RBCs and NRBCs, Foundational and Lockdown Learning Campaigns, SMC and other stakeholder orientations and the establishment of Community Education Resource Centres. Our plans for expansion into the entire West Singhbhum district and the Children Festivals that we already conducted successfully across the district were discussed.

The elected representatives appreciated our efforts to ensure quality education for childrenin the state and assured their support going forward. West Singhbhum DC ensured that they will look into the identified government buildings for running RBCs and allot them after verifying with concerned departments. Aspire’s Secretary talked about our efforts to engage the children from the local communities through incorporating languages such as HO, Nagpuri, Kurmali, Santali, etc. into classrooms.
