We have started our Children’s Festivals in various schools in Kharagpur, Keonjhar and West Singhbhum. Children from various blocks in West Singhbhum participated in our children’s festival for the first time. As part of the festival various activities such as rangoli making, drawing, clay modelling, games like handi pita, musical chair, math race, rassi khicha etc and cultural programs were conducted. Along with children and teachers, parents, SMC, SHG and PRI members participated and supported us in the events. We used this opportunity to collect feedback from various community stakeholders on our work.
We conduct these children’s festivals with the participation of all children to help them overcome the fear of facing crowds and shyness, create a venue for them to showcase their talent and strengthen their unity. This year, with the pandemic and schools reopening, our team had to face many challenges to organise the festival in all the schools.
From Kharagpur, Odisha and West Singhbhum, a total of 81621 children from 857 schools took part in Children’s Festival activities.
