Young Voices, Strong Choices: Adolescents Speak Up for a Brighter Future

In Kharagpur-I Block, West Bengal, 551 adolescents from five high schools, including 501 girls and 50 boys, came together for a convention on “Healthy Body, Healthy Mind, Bright Future.” Through discussions on child rights, health, government schemes, helpline services and life skills, they explored how awareness and informed choices can shape brighter futures. A highlight was the inspiring story of the Kanyashree Club at Kellapratapur MSK, whose members helped prevent a friend’s child marriage by seeking support through a child helpline. The convention concluded with adolescents pledging to continue their education, pursue their aspirations and speak up against child marriage in their communities.
