🌟 Ruiya & Dimbuli Panchayats Declared Child Labor Free: A Community-Led Achievement

July 9, 2025

On World Day Against Child Labor (June 12, 2025), the villages of Ruiya (Hatgamharia Block) and Dimbuli (Manoharpur Block) in West Singhbhum, Jharkhand, set a shining example for all — declaring themselves Child Labor Free Zones (CLFZ).

These declarations are the result of months of tireless effort by parents, Panchayat leaders, volunteers, and ASPIRE — all united by a simple belief: every child belongs in school, not at work.

✅ In Ruiya, a household survey revealed 140 out-of-school children. With bridge courses and community support, all were enrolled back in school — 28 through the Non-Residential Bridge Course (NRBC).
âś… In Dimbuli, 120 children were identified and brought into formal education after addressing their learning gaps.

The celebrations were full of pride and hope — with dignitaries, Panchayat members, SHGs, school committees, and families lighting lamps, honoring students who passed their board exams, and pledging to keep their villages free of child labor and child marriage.

The Zila Parishad members and Block Development Officers lauded the community’s spirit and urged everyone to continue safeguarding children’s rights even beyond ASPIRE’s involvement.

These two Panchayats now stand as beacons of change, showing that when a community comes together, even the toughest challenges can be overcome. Their message is loud and clear:
🎓 Education is every child’s right. Child labor has no place in our future..
