On 7th of December, Ghatgaon Block, Odisha, marked a momentous occasion as it was officially declared a Child Labour Free Zone! A celebration of unity, commitment, and a collective oath to ensure this positive change endures.

On the significant day of the Child Labour Free Zone declaration in Ghatgaon Block, a total of 1800 individuals, including all Gram Panchayat Sarpanches, gathered to celebrate the event. Special guests, such as Jadumani Naik (Block Vice Chairman), Gitanjali Naik (Block Chairman), Ranjan Kumar Panda (College Principal), and Jayanti Mahanta (CDPO), graced the occasion.

Despite challenging weather conditions caused by a cyclone, the community’s active participation demonstrated their engagement in the program.

The event commenced with a motivational song and introductions of the esteemed guests. A captivating welcome dance by young RBC students set the tone for the program. Guests shared their thoughts on the day, reflecting on the journey of struggle, and expressed the importance of its continuation. The program featured a traditional dance by volunteers, and RBC kids presented a play highlighting the detrimental effects of child labor.

The ceremony concluded with everyone in attendance taking an oath, pledging their commitment to uphold the declaration of Ghatgaon Block as a Child Labour Free Zone in the future.
